Only had a smart meter fitted a month ago (which I did not want) the ihd meter display is nearly always on the red for electric even when there is nothing on except the fridge, gas is not much better and the current weekly cost equates to over £3500 per year that’s triple what I was paying prior to the metre being installed
Hmm... It sounds to me as if the tariff config isn't correct. Don't worry - the actual billing isn't done by the meter so as long as your account has the correct rates, you won't be overcharged. Your meters are probably still being commissioned which takes up to six weeks from the date of install as well. If you still see this issue after that, you can ask customer service to issue the SMETS Command Update Tariff Configuration to force the meters to pick up the correct tariff rates - which will also update your IHD.
It sounds like the target settings on the IHD need to be changed as well. Please could you post a photo of your meters and IHD for me? Once I have those, I'll be able to walk you through the steps to fix that.
