Retrieving my money
-
I’ve been overcharged £12 000 , a mistake made by the chap who took the payment . Desperately trying to retrieve money as badly needed for Christmas . Spoke to e.on , they acknowledged issue and promised to rectify . Still no money or anything . Any suggestions ? We’re in a bit of a panic / pickle . It is part of my partners retirement pay and we need for Christmas .
any suggestions ? -

Best AnswerHi there
Sorry to hear that 5 days on. Did you try phoning your bank. They usually have an emergency number. Perhaps they could (of) help(ed) you out by preventing the payment from going through (usually happens in 2 stages; especially for that huge amount of money). If you are still in a pickle, banks reopen on 29 and 30 and 31 December 2021. They may be able to help you out with an emergency loan. This happened to me once when I got stranded abroad when something was stolen from me.
Don't lose hope.
Wishing you all the best for a happy ending for the New Year 2022!
In the meantime take care and keep well. -
Uh oh, that's not good.
As far as I'm aware, generally provided the refund has been approved it should start to process within 48 hours of approval, but it can take several days to get it back into your bank account, because BACS and GBC aren't the fastest banking transactions out there. The Christmas period also causes further delays due to a monster Bank Holiday but it should be with you within 10 working days. If it doesn't arrive by then, please flag it up again with customer service and ask for it to be traced.Just another guy passing by... The unknown tech way...
