Hi all, so after being with Eon-next for 2 months after igloo I checked my balance and bills(online no paper one as yet) and I have been billed for both gas and electric-checked the meter readings to date and I can work out the electric pretty close but the gas baffles me, in brief my gas meter reading has increased from the start date by 324 units and the bill is £174 and frankly I cant work it out ?
my tariff says 4.26 P/kwh and 30.78 p/day standing charge(approx 60 days=£18+)
anyone point me in the right direction please
I think I've figured this out. Please see below. I'm afraid I accidentally hit the wrong button on the calculator while doing this, but I corrected it so it should be about right.
It seems the bill you've got is about right to me. Don't forget the 5% VAT which I've added into the calculation above!
Just another guy passing by... The unknown tech way...

@theunknowntech thank you, it gives me a bit more insight -on the next bill if I follow your calculations it should be a bit easier to understand. I think being old and dim I assumed the 4.26 meant pence 😀 ,now I have a ball park figure per unit off the 'smart' meter of £0.426 rather than £0.0426 hopefully it should all fall into place. thank you for your time
But then again, I did get pretty close and 90p is within a reasonable margin of error. It seems I also based my numbers off of your M3 values, but the bills are actually generated using the kWh value after an algorithm has done a conversion. Still, I got it pretty much bang on though (somehow!).
Your bill seems about right to me, but if you think it's still wrong then you have the option to raise a billing dispute. I'd recommend paying it off for now anyway so that your account stays healthy, since a refund can always be issued if needed.
