Hi All,
I was wondering if you could help me out.
I had both gas and electric meters changed to smart meters in December 2020.
All seemed to be ok, and in my account I can see that both meters had been sending readings. This is still the case for electric meter but the last gas meter reading had been sent this September. Since then I have been only receiving bills for electricity. I've only just picked on it today.
I am on Fix Online v43 Feb 2022 D for electricity and gas but this does no longer show on the bills for gas, only for electricity (including the overview screen when I log into my online account). It does not show gas supply on my bill at all.
As a result of not being billed for gas from mid-September my account is now over £200 in credit. Is this something I should be worried about?
I have just submitted a manual gas meter reading on line. Is this going to correct itself or do I need to take any action?
That's... Not meant to happen... For now, I'd recommend against requesting a refund as you don't want to risk suddenly swinging into debit randomly. It's best to leave the credit in the account so that it balances out after the issue is fixed.
It sounds to me as if your account has gotten itself into a bad state, but I think some diagnostics for meter faults are in order. Please could you show me some photos of your meters and IHD if you have one. This helps me to know what you've got, as the advice I give varies depending on circumstances.
Just another guy passing by... The unknown tech way...

So I spent 50 minutes on the phone with eon this morning and they hopefully managed to sort it out. It looks like it was some sort of account problem. Thanks again for your help.
No worries. I'd recommend keeping an eye on things in case you have more trouble. Those Landis+Gyr meters are known for being annoyingly unreliable, so it's definitely a good idea to flag up any issues as soon as you notice them.
