Erm... No... That's definitely not right at all. I could understand company policy being to not change the actual tariff rates themselves, but I cannot possibly think of any reason why a company policy would say that an IHD can't be reconfigured to pull down the correct tariff rates that apply to your account.
I'm going to ask Beki or Hannah to step in here, as I think they might be able to fix this for you. Bear with me and I'll try to get their attention using the Bat Signal. XD
Just another guy passing by... The unknown tech way...

I also forgot to mention before actually. That particular SMETS Command doesn't target your IHD, it targets the meters instead. Once the meters have the correct tariff config, the IHD automatically retrieves the config next time it connects with the meter. Which effectively renders any claim about company policy invalid here. You could say that agent fell into my trap, but I'm not that much of an evil genius. :)
I also know that Beki has verified my solution works in this thread too. So I'll see if she can help figure this out.
@theunknowntech bat signal received loud and clear. 🦇
@laurie - would you like to pop me a private message with your account number, full name and address and I can send that update myself. I think the Energy Specialist may of misunderstood the question.
I moved from a fixed tariff to a standard variable tariff at the end of July. My smart meter is still displaying the previous tariff. I would like to see my current tariff with the most recent daily rate and standing charge, so I can budget more easily.
I use an Economy 7 meter with same rates for both day and night usage (single rate config), because I don't use enough at night for it to be economical. The smart meter in question is a Chameleon SEDv3 Credit SMETS1 version. Could you help me with my predicament, please?
My tariff changed two weeks ago, but when I go into my account information on my smart meter it says the day rate and standing charge of the previous tariff. Will it get updated automatically or can I force it to update? I got the Chameleon SMETS2 meter.
It may update to reflect the recent tariff changes on its own shortly but if not then currently the only way to get it updated is to contact customer service.
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.

It took 3-4 months for my smart meter to update to the new tariff.
We're told that customers service staff are now fully trained to resolve these issues. So, try them once again, and make a formal complaint if nothing happens.
However, while there are no real statistics available, I can well imagine that the vast majority of customers get their updates on time, correctly. But when that doesn't happen it seems to be too complicated a process to get the error corrected. The 2 way communication system underpinning the smart meter system is very secure and highly complex, which means identifying where the glitch is needs an Einstein sometimes. And customers have to work via their supplier and the supplier has to work with the DCC. The DCC are key to smart meter communications, but they only work with suppliers - they are not customer facing and not responsive to ordinary customers concerns.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
