I'm currently on Next Loyalty Fixed V4 for electricity and am paying 30.41p/kWh and 37.63p/day.(Eastern region).
I'm thinking that i should ditch this for next flex to take advantage of the new OFGEM limited prices from 1 October and then switch again to another more recent foxed price deal. What do you all think?
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
I'd love those prices. South Wales are a little steeper.
I've run the numbers through my spreadsheet and I'm up £30 on the deal fixing with Loyalty since mid July, compared to my bills if I stayed on Flex. I stand to lose by £4 between Oct and January, then make again if the prices go up a little in January. So on the whole, for me still better off on Loyalty.
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
On Next Flex the prices would be 27.93p per kWh and 43.66p per day (incl of VAT) from ! October.
So my daily consumption is about 4.5kWh, then next flex from 1Oct would save me 4.5 times 2.5 p (rounded for ease of reference) = 11.5p per day, but the standing charge would be 6p higher , so the daily saving would only be 5.5p. Times 92 days in the quarter means I'd save about £5.
But if being on next flex opened the door to a cheaper still fixed rate that would be more attractive. What's this tracker tariff I've heard about? It seems to me that trying to find out what is available is made deliberately difficult by Eon Next..

I've been bit distracted recently (big round number anniversary!) so I hadn't seen that but its along the lines of what i was thinking about. But I can't switch directly to that while I'm on Loyalty fixed V4 - hence my original question.😥

I knew you were already on a Loyalty Fixed. It was more giving a little more info on the Tracker Tariff. Congratulations on your anniversary 🍾. I'm more with @retrotecchie I'm staying with Loyalty.
The Next flex tariffs for me are currently £6.34 a month less than the Loyalty v4, which I am currently on. However, with the January increase , I will probably be about £9 more. I think the time to look at a possible tariff switch is from 1st April when it is thought that the cap will reduce again by about 3.6%.
There will then be no doubt another tariff to replace Fixed 12m v2.
my recollection was that loyalty V4 was priced under the July price cap, and now the price cap has reduced too, so the October price cap is less than V4. But I’m always prepared to be corrected !
Only my electricity is with Next , if that is relevant.

Absolutely spot on. 👍 Dare I say as usual 😉.
Update.
At the moment with my current consumption I'm 4p a day worse off on Loyalty V4 compared with Flex.
