I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.
A few reasons...
Very little activity on this forum which went a week without a single post on the subject.
Nothing in the national press as it is just too boring to print.
No media activity from National Grid and no DFS event for over a week.
DFS pay-outs dropping though the floor and pay-outs down to around £1/£2 instead of £10 or even £50.
Mild weather and energy shift now possibly not needed.
Me not being invited to DFS events.
@Actual
Fair enough but the fact that it’s not discussed here (or elsewhere) as much doesn’t mean people aren’t participating or no-one is bothered anymore. It just means it’s not so newsworthy. Mind you, I dare say the potential closure of the loophole that allows some to be awarded £50 for reducing consumption by a few kW for a hour whilst using excessive amounts at other times might stimulate some discussion.
The way Eon Next have delivered this national grid test and emergency events has been staggeringly poor in my opinion.
Poor information at the start, lack of including all eligible people and as indicated here I don't think they could care less about it just going through the motions.
They are probably more focused on getting off the naughty step for customer service with Ofgem.
As many of you know I had to turn to a 3rd party to be included in these events as it was evident there was no guarantee of being included by Eon Next and it appears no guarantee of once chosen being included in all subsequent events.
However, this is not a very active community but on other forums energy shifting is still talked about and very much alive.
As an example, with Loop over 7-8 events we should earn over £200 on these DFS events. 10% of our energy bill. We consider it a very worthwhile program for energy shifting.
They are probably more focused on getting off the naughty step for customer service with Ofgem.
Which, judging by the vast majority of posts in the Community, is exactly where their 'focus' needs to be!
Improving their communications would certainly be second priority, in my view.
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
@Actual fyi new event tomorrow 21st Feb. Can't see why there would be any need for it, the weather has been fine for days and tomorrow is forecast for similar here.

@Ryan1 Many thanks for the heads up. I haven't been invited to the Eon Next event.
