Wondering if anyone else has had a replacement meter and got a non-smart meter to replace the faulty smart meter. The technician who came out today called E.On and then said that if our meter was to be replaced, it wouldn't be smart.

Ofgem state that there are binding annual installation targets for energy suppliers to roll out smart meters to their remaining non-smart customers by 2025. I'm assuming that the cost of a smart meter is far greater than that of a non-smart meter so are E.On Next trying to shift the cost over to another energy supplier that I may switch to?

Chances are it's a smart meter but without the communications hub fitted. Thus rendering it dumb.

Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
