Not so fast! That one spot test got much worse performance than expected so the challenge now is "What should we do to improve on that?" and no buying a new cooker is not my first choice answer to all inefficiencies. I've just burned some pristine fossil methane which should have been kept reserved to make medical precision plastic parts and important stuff like that. Does anyone have recommendations of stackable saucepans? Can you get a hot water veg pan boiling above a hotter pressure cooker or a hot water potato pan? Since fossil gas is not nil net carbon, and neither is imported electricity, we really need more comparisons amongst non-fossil methods. Does anyone have a small forest for firewood and an old kitchen range ?

All it need is a telescope tracking mount to keep it aligned with the sun, a rather robust solar panel and a battery. So quite cheap then.

I think the egg would explode. We once let a pan boil dry and the well cooked egg splattered a considerable area with egg debris. Took quite a while to clear up - i think the same happens in a microwave.
