Hi my fixed v8 tariff ends 31st July and wondered if anyone has advice whether to stick fixed or go variable. Currently £78 pm don't use much gas only two of us in a 3 bed semi. Thanks

I think you will find that there will be a substantial rise whichever you pick, and bear in mind that the prices will very likely go up again in October. only you can make that decision when you see what is on offer come July.

variable prices are going up 54% on April 1.

I worked out in roughly general terms that another 60% increase in the variable rate in October 2022 would put 1 year of flex (variable) rate prices on the same level as the current V13 offer. But you are on much cheaper rates currently and who knows what offer will be available at end of July, so you have to stick it out for now - there is no point in leaving your current fix early.

However be prepared for much higher prices when your fix end - maybe even 2.5- 3 times your current rates.
