Understanding my bill

    Hi there,

    I am fairly new to E.on and was wondering if anybody could explain to me how to understand my electricity bill?

    Whenever I submit a meter reading, my account says I am in debit.

    Am I supposed to pay the debit off straight away or do I wait until my monthly bill arrives?

    Usually, customers wait until their monthly bill has arrived, so many tend to submit meter readings when prompted (usually via email etc). Can I ask if you are on a variable payment each month or whether you are on a fixed tariff? The reason I ask, is that if your account is always in a debit, we may need to reassess your payments to ensure you are not building up an outstanding balance.
