Is any one else having issues with their first bill?
I submitted a meter reading for both my gas and electric on 5th Dec. Shortly after a charge appeared on my account and when I looked at my billing history transactions I could see it was a gas charge, but so far there is no charge for my electric.
I then looked to see if a bill had been generated but again nothing has so far. It's now 4 days since my meter readings were accepted and still no bill.
So far I'm not impressed with E.ON and it's especially disappointing their website is based off of the awful Octopus Energy website.
Hi @DWRUK and thanks for your post. Sorry about this. It sounds like your electricity charges have got a little stuck. It should be really easy to sort. Can you send me a DM with your account number or address and i'll be able to look in your account and figure out what's happened.
In terms of the website - it's a work in progress. We're constantly working on it to give you more features so that you can see and do more, as well as provide more info for your own accounts. One of the top requests we get is a consumption tracker. Very early next year we're planning to launch our own version of a tracker.
If you have any ideas of what you'd like to see on the website going forwards, then we're all ears, so pop some suggestions here.

In my experience, once they estimate and bill, you can only enter a higher reading (you can't correct a too-high estimate unless you call them).
If you (then or some time later) add a higher reading, they will bill again and DD the money. They bill automatically within a few hours of EVERY meter reading - if you pay a variable DD, it's only monthly payments if you send monthly (or fewer) meter reads. If fewer, they'll use a 'generous' estimate
I only have an Electric supply and I talked to EonNext about the delay it was taking for my account to be updated after my standing order had been taken and I was advised it could take up to five days. However after various attempts of trying to find out how the system is supposed to work my account was updated and the coreect status was shown on my dashboard. It strikes me the system is a manual system and it takes some one to do the updates. Could be due to lack of staff during the pandemic maybe but admitting that would be useful if true.
