Eon not responsible for Economy 7 circuit times?

    It might mean the data is historic rather than current...
    If the meters have never previously been registered with Bright before, they (Glowmarkt) won't hold any historic data for that meter since they've never had authority to access them.

    When @Beasel registered the meters for the first time, that's when Glowmarkt will have made their first access to read the meter data via the DCC, with the data made available to the user via Bright (or the Glowmarkt webpage & APIs)

    Very true. My brain hurts!

    @Beasel
    Thank you for this update.
    if your meter has been essentially dumb for months, the bright app and downloaded data will be of virtually no use. When the engineer does visit you need to impress on them that the switching to the 5th terminal needs to align with you E7 times fully.

    Has your meter ever worked correctly in smart mode since installation?

    All I know is that when I looked back through the Eon statements, all readings up till last July showed as Smart Meter Reading on the bill. They then showed as Estimated till December. In January the Day reading was Smart Meter whilst the Night reading was Estimated. In March both readings were DC (Data Collector.) This prompted Eon to issue an assessment that I was £2000 in arrears. When I then checked the meters they showed Day 3670 (DC reading was 5187) and Night 1233 (DC reading was 9271.) I then contacted Eon and submitted my own correct meter readings. Since then all readings have been Smart Meter readings.

    @Beasel - in your earlier post you said that Bright was picking up data from the meter which would indicate that it is currently working in smart mode

    So are you saying that for 6 months that it was not communicating with EOn - but now has started communicating (does the "Data Collector" reading mean an EOn smart reading or a physical eyeball meter read?)

    I'll copy the reply that I have just posted to Mr Meldrew!

    As for the DC readings, if this was a physical eyeball reading, the eyeballs needed to go to Specsavers. I even checked in case the eyeballs had checked a completely different meter. So basically I have no idea if this was a physical reading or not. However if I had not checked there was a chance that subsequent estimates would have been based on this gross overcalculation.

    @meldrewreborn I've replied to another of your posts with info about the various readings. Since I contacted Eon in March there have been Smart Meter readings.

    @meldrewreborn : according to @Beasel he's registered the meter with Bright and can see data from the meter, which means they're connecting via the DCC. So hopefully he'll be able to pull the historic CSV download data 🤞

    So it looks like for some reason the meter was not being read by EOn 6 months ago (or whatever) but maybe they should be able to access it now.

    The Bright data seems to show readings for all the months, regardless of whether they were Eon Smart or Estimated readings.

    It might mean the data is historic rather than current. But there are so many issue here and I don't think we've a good picture of the full circumstances. Arrears of £2,000 on a comparatively low consumption after just 6 months of a non smart meter? And why wasn't the low off peak recording picked up earlier? We only get one side of the story.
    I hasten to add that the arrears were generated because Eon made a DC reading which was completely incorrect. They have reversed that now.
