Just trying to work out if smart v4 is better than standard v7.
The only difference I can see in pricing is 0.5p off-peak. I use an average of 14kWh per night on EV/Dishwasher/Hot water - so smart v4 would save me about 7p/day or about £25 a year.
This thread Leaving Next Drive Smart V2 - E.ON Next Community suggests that it might take 15 mins every time I plug in for the system to realise that and set up a schedule. If I charge twice a week and the delay is only 10 minutes, then that will cost me an extra 100x1.25kwh*20p = £25 a year - so no advantage of smart!
How long is the delay after plugging in before a schedule is calculated and charging stops?
edit - smart v3 was better with the lower peak rate and standing charge.

Reason: comparison with v3
@blanik - I guess it all depends on your charging/usage requirements.
AFAIK: They both have seven hours at 6.7p, so if you can do all the charging you need overnight I don't see the point of the smart tariff.
However if you do need some extra top-up charging in the daytime (although you won't necessarily know when that's going to be) I guess it could be a suitable choice.
Smart V4 is definitely 6.2p off-peak, and as far as I know the last target time is 11am - so no daytime charging.
Doesn't look worth the risk/hassle for the small saving.
I have read of another person on the similar Octopus IOG who uses the 11am finish to charge a 2nd car with o/p electricity, but that does not apply to us.
@blanik - Agreed 👍 ... it would be interesting to hear from people who are already on the Drive Smart tariff how many additional daytime slots they are getting (and when), on top of the 7hr nighttime cheap leccy.
