A normal meter has 4 cables, live and neutral in, and live and neutral out. An economy 7 type meter might have an additional live out to power storage heaters at restricted times.
Also 5 dials is a confusing term as some meters had a number of dials which showed all 10 digits plainly and each of the indicators moved in opposite rotational directions. Whereas this meter effectively displays a single reading. Either way its old and should be replaced fairly automatically, and certainly not have a customer request refused.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and think the smart meter programme is a waste of our money. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
In the light of the comments here it appears I do have a single phase meter, and that the certificate is has expired. Are you able to initiate a replacement for me?
@rwh202 it's a signalling issue on our side with the system not the meter itself. As I said ordinarily this wouldn't be an issue but we are having issues on our side.
I do apologise I should have written a 1 phase yesterday I don't know where my head was at possibly too much birthday cake! You are right though this does appear to be 1 phase as there are 4 cables which would indicate 1 phase meter. 3 phase tends to have 3x 100amp fuses and 3x brown cables coming out of the meter and 3x brown cables going in and will look a bit like this 👇
I will pop you a DM @SPET and get some details and see if I can do a bit of digging for you and see what we can do 😀
