Automatic SEG readings + account credits - rollout schedule?

Looks like it is now theoretically possible for E-on to automatically get the export readings, and credit export payments to the import account (instead of having two separate accounts). This is a great step forward. I presume that this is on a phased rollout. So I have a few questions which are probably of general interest -
    a) Is this is only for specific brands of export meters, or is it working for all smart meters?
    b) Roughly how long is the rollout planned to take?
    c) In the long term, will this enable time-based export rates? (For example, higher rates for export in the early evening when wholesale prices are high?)

We are now able to offset your SEG account credits onto your energy account on a monthly basis.
You will now see both Import and Export Supply numbers on your energy account. From the readings we take remotely, your future statements will show you the charges for the energy used as well as the energy returned back to the grid under the SEG agreement.
    What does this mean?
We won't need to ask you to submit an export reading for payment as our system will automatically collect this when your monthly smart readings are taken.
If you’ve got any questions just reply to this email or give us a call on 0808 501 5218. We’re here 9am to 5pm Monday to Thursday & Friday 9am to 4pm.
    Kind regards
    The SEG Team

    Hi @WyndStryke

I read about this on another forum that we both frequent. Very interesting indeed.
I'm in the process of setting up my SEG so I should be able to add my experience as a new sign up to this thread. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

Am I reading too much into this when I think that SEG payments might be credited to our energy supply account so that they can be used to balance incoming and outgoing credits / debits? That would be quite nice for me.

I'm sure that we will be hearing more about this from Eon as a lot of folks are interested in this development.
