Hi just had a new gas meter fitted by Eon 2 days ago and on installation the outside supply is not showing anything on the display and IHD still says waiting for current data. Is there a simple way to get it ‘awake’ and working?
@Alimc.
pressing 9 should do it. Each press should take you through the stored data.
the information on the IHD is a different issue. The gas meter is battery powered for safety reasons and sends its data to the communications hub on top of the electric meter by radio every 30 minutes. Were both meters installed at the same time?
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and think the smart meter programme is a waste of our money. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
@meldrewreborn thanks, they were both installed at the same time by the eon engineer and at the time he said there was a system issue but it should soon come back on, but it hasn’t
installed.. by the eon engineer and at the time he said there was a system issue ...
Googling for details of the commissioning process, the IHD has to be paired to the meter (Comms hub), so it sounds like maybe it wasn't completed properly.
Looking at the way that third party IHD/CADs like the Glow IHD are paired, when you purchase one of these they need your meter details so that they can remotely pair the IHD with your Comms hub before they send it to you. (Presumably registering the IHD's security credentials with the Comms Hub via a DCC command)
So if they can pair the meter/IHD remotely, I don't understand why EOn can't do the same
