Complete long shot here, but it's there any chance that somehow your phone is clearing the app data when you close it.
I've just gone into "app info" and selected "clear data" which resets all settings to initial state, meaning I had to login & accept fingerprint login when I opened the app the first time, but it remembers the settings for subsequent usage.
Nice thought. I went to the app settings via the phone's settings/apps and saw that it shows a few MB of user data and cache, suggesting that it isn't getting cleared? But I'll clear all that anyway just to see if it makes any difference/refresh etc. I'll update later.

I went to the app data/cache and there were several MB showing which I assume means it is not being cleared when I close the app (remember that when I close the app then go back in during the same day it opens no problem, no login or fingerprint required)
I cleared cache/app data anyway and re-logged in to the app, but the symptoms are same as before, ie can go straight back in to the app if it's the same day but next day it tells me I've been logged out for my security.
I recently changed my EOn password, which logged me out and triggered that message since I was already logged in under the old credentials, which is understandable.
It must be frustrating since there HAS to be a reason for it, but doubt if anyone will be able to find what it is...I do have the odd app (Strava being one) which very occasionally has logged me out for no apparent reason, but others which never do this.
My Halifax banking app however logs me out even if I switch to another app, so I guess that one's being super secure.
