    @retrotecchie
    the conversion is not accurate - we are billed on volume converted by more accurate factors, not the approximate kWh stored in the meter.

    but that’s just me - others are fully entitled to think differently, indeed I would encourage that.
    But if I ruled the UK I’d make sure the additional information was made available.
    Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and think the smart meter programme is a waste of our money. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.

    @DebF_EONNext Bright displays data .... as received from the meter(s). I would prefer that is allowed gas consumption data by volume to be accessed, but I doubt they’ll change that.
    Unfortunately it's not something Bright can provide - the meter returns the cumulative volume to the supplier for billing purposes where they apply the relevant calorific values etc

    But the meter uses its (approximate) value of CV etc to compute the kWh consumption which is fed to the IHD, and this is also the value picked up by Bright via the Glowmarkt API, and returned in the CSV file downloads etc.

    The "meterread" API function doesn't return anything (they say "unless the user has the Glow IHD/CAD" - this is because the IHD does pick up the m3 value which it can then feed back to Bright via the wifi/cloud connection of the Glow CAD)
