E.on Next have scheduled their engineer to fit a new smart meter at my property, but I've not been sent any details on 'what to expect', as it was all automated through sms texts. Can anyone tell me if the power will need to be switched off (I assume it will) and for how long? I'm slightly concerned, as we're both working from home and need power & wi-fi. Thanks
Hi BobT44, thanks for the post.
Yes your power will need to go off for a little bit whilst you have your smart meter fitted. When I had my meter fitted it was for about 20 mins per meter, so not too long. In terms of getting all the info you need beforehand, we'd normally go through this on the phone with you, but sounds like your experience has all been through SMS? Do you want to pop me a message with your account number in and I'll take a look for you.

If you do not receive a quick reply you can get an estimate by looking at other suppliers websites.
Just a suggestion and its not from EonNext just my own suggestion as a customer.
Eon suggests it takes an hour per meter which are both Electricity and Gas.
