SMART meter with another supplier

    Hi all,

    I currently take my power from another supplier but have solar panels and FIT with EON Next (it was how it was set up when I moved into my current home).

    My current power supplier keeps trying to make me move onto a SMART meter but so far nobody has with confidence told me that it won't cause any problems as my FIT is with another supplier.

    Can anyone tell me if this would likely cause any issues?

    Welcome to our Eon Next Community, I am Indy one of the Community Coordinators. 😊

    Installing a smart meter for your energy account means You can have a Smart Meter installed, but you would need to be happy to move from deemed export to metered. Currently you'll be on deemed export which is 50% of everything you generate, moving to a smart meter means that we'll be able to record what you actually export back to the grid, and therefore will be paid to actual readings.     If you do go ahead with the installation of your smart meter please contact our FIT team on 0808 501 5218. Monday to Friday 9-5 (4:30pm Friday)
