There is help available to some , but the reality is that many still miss out.

In this section you'll see a range of help available, but I fear if you haven't been contacted yet for this winter, you are probably above the cut off line - although in many cases we don't know exactly where that line falls as the criteria are not easy to ascertain.

You might be using a bit more energy than you like during this particularly chilly cold snap, but as temperatures generally have been higher over the autumn and winter than we'd usually expect, you would not have needed so much heating for a lot of the time.

There is help out there for people in your circumstances but not directly from the energy suppliers. Best bet is to speak to an organisation like AgeUK or even your local council to see what extra help may be available.

Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.

looking again at your original post, £16 per day seems to be quite high. Are you sure the tariff rates being applied are correct? The IHD is only a guide , so I would look at the underling consumption and then calculate out the daily costs using prices from your statement.

It might also be that you are using a lot of energy, when perhaps you don’t need to. Electricity is 4 times the price of gas and customers are usually better off using gas in preference to electricity, assuming you have both fuels. If you have only electricity, then economy 7 tariffs can reduce bills, assuming the hours of operation are correctly set.

We can only guess in the absence of more detail from yourself.
