You can also try completely powering down and restarting the phone. I have two apps that only ever fully update after a cold boot. Even though the app version shows as updated, sometimes the changes only become apparent after a full restart.

Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.

I did in this case. In fact tried both restart and complete power off shutdown. It made no difference, but always worth a try.
Strangely enough a week or so ago my app changed back to the old screen for a day. There had been no obvious update. Next day it was back to the new screen. 🤔🌞

I would assume that all is actually required is a "force stop" of the particular app, rather than needing a full phone reboot
Force Stop kills the Android (Linux) process the app is running in, plus all associated foreground/background processes.
Maybe clear cache/data too if you want a clean restart of the app
