Unless I have missed it it looks like Eon Next are not going to participate in the somewhat muted scheme that is taking place this winter. The rewards from what I have seen (p/kWh reduction) are likely to look miserly (compared to the last 2 years) with many probably thinking 'what is the point?'. But you never know what RedEd and NESO decide over the next few months....🤣
In the meantime though I signed up to participate via the USwitch app (as I did last year). The carrot this time from them is up to £10 of free electricity on Xmas Day but you need to register by 22nd December.
Words of warning though. If you sign up via the app you cannot ditch them mid-winter and revert back to Eon Next (should they decide to participate this winter). The 'free electricity' is only available to those with smart meters and the payment takes place in late April/early May as I recall. Last year it was a straight £10 cash payment (direct to bank) so I think I managed about £13 in total taking into account the Demand Flexibility Service payments of £3. It did arrive in my bank account as promised. The DFS payments look to be somewhat frugal as I saw with my in-laws reward yesterday from our tentacled friends of tuppence! 😄
