    Hello!
I have prepayment meters. It works for me, I like my routine! Anyway, yesterday I had a call from eon telling me that in January my meters will need replacing and they don’t offer traditional meters anymore only smart meters. If I said it once I said it 10 times that I don’t want them. Wouldn’t take no for an answer and in the end I hung up on them. Is this correct? Can I refuse? Thanks 🙏🏻

Good evening @Womble welcome to the community! I 100% agree with you when it comes to prepayment I like to feel in control of my usage but I also got a smart meter a couple of years ago and it was the best thing I ever did! I can top up on my phone which is so much easier for me then trying to find a shop that had working machines.

So please don't worry we do prepayment smart as well! And if you really prefer to go to the shop to top up you still can! It has all the same features of your traditional meter.

You wont be able to refuse as I'm afraid as its a legal obligation that we change your meter to make sure its safe for you and you get billed correctly even as a prepayment customer its really handy to have those remote readings and the fact that we no longer make the traditional meter 😀
