Brain Damage and rf radiation dangerous from Smart Meters

    Hello,

I have read with interest about SMART meters and the option of making it DUMB.

I have an old digital display Economy SEVEN meter and send readings via on line (with router wifi turned off) at the end of each month.

When the broadband supplier left the wifi turned on (by accident) the effect of the wifi caused me severe pain and memory problems.

I have brain damage due to a car accident and a sustained head injury.

I am on the special register and wonder if a categorical answer and assurance can be given that if the present digital read out Economy Seven meter must be replaced that the replacement meter is a SMART meter that can and will be placed in DUMB mode ??

Do you use a mobile phone? Smart meters use mobile phone communications and power levels on a very intermittent basis ( a few seconds once or twice a day) and as you don't have them next to your ear, will not give you any radiation problems whatsoever.

Nothing to worry about at all.
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.

do you live in the north or south? Different systems exist depending where you live!

Are you affected by the RTS switch off?. Is that why you’re investigating the radiation effects of smart meters? While you attribute some problems with WiFi signals there are so many of these nowadays from all sorts of premises, that you’d have to live in a very remote area to be free of them. You can look on a mobile phone to see how many WiFi signals are available in any particular place.

if you are not affected by RTS you should make a special request to customer services for your meter to be replaced (if for example it’s old and out of certification) by another traditional meter. If you really believe that a smart meter will cause you harm then it’s not going to be good for your mental health if one is fitted. @retrotecchie can confirm that these are available in special cases.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.

Always worth an ask, but I can't give a definitive answer.

    Thank you for your time.
    I don't use a mobile phone.
I have a BSc in Applied Physics and have been involved in the telecomms and datacomms industry for over 25 years in the UK Europe and the Middle East.
I can assure you (all) that there is a real danger to me; the danger is the pulsing nature and the amount of energy 'hitting' an already damaged brain.
As a precious member of Headway (for those with an acquired brain injury) I have given evidence and participated in a Channel 4 Lifeline programme in the past.
There is plenty of peer reviewed evidence in the USA, Australia and others.
Sorry but 'not to worry' is not in my case evidence based, but good to know that I have at last started something.
The same problem exists with DECT roaming phones in the home when BT and others insist on their routers being left on continuously in wifi on mode for phones to work on upper and lower floors in a home. BT have agreed that that will be a problem.
A Japanese maker of DECT phones has agreed that their phone (and others) cannot have their phone radiation completely turned off so there is a real problem that nobody has come up with an answer.

    Thank you for your reply.
I did watch the latest programme on tv and since I am in the Midlands the signalling system is based on a wifi signal so I know this is the problem.
I have made eon aware and will make a written special request.
Please see my reply to @meldrewreborn

is it important for you to have a smart meter? Are you being pressured into having one?

if you want to make a smart meter dumb you can apply one of the inventions of Michael Faraday!

The WAN communications for the meters use cellular frequencies, around the 824Mhz band. The HAN uses ZigBEE on the 2.4GHz band which is similar to Wi-Fi, but not the same. It uses much lower power levels, for starters.

However, if it's the 2.4GHz that you have an issue with, then you can just turn the In House Display off and then there won't be any 2.4 GHz radiation. With no IHD in use, the meter doesn't generate any.

    Many thanks.

The idea is to have a DUMB meter and no radiation.
I have read that in a local area one node in particular will collect all the other node readings and reply to the regular polling signals. This is radiation that is of sufficient power to penetrate brick walls and higher than the in home display signals.
So even if the in house display was to be turned off then radiation will still be a prblem for me.
    But I appreciate everyone's input.
I shall update when eon replies.
    Again, many thanks.

No not really important just that the Economy 7 signal is soon to be switched off.

I will make a formal written letter to the People in charge and get back to you all that have shown such kindness.
