Did you know we're teaming up with the FA to launch ' The Greener Game', a ground - breaking program that's bringing sustainable energy solutions to grassroots football clubs across England! ⚽

We have invested Β£1.5 million per annual, to help thousands of clubs make energy - efficient upgrades and save money on their bills. πŸ’°

    The Benefits

    • Pilot clubs have already seen energy savings of up to 25%! 🀯
    • That's an average of Β£3,000 in savings per club each year! πŸ’°
    • These savings can be reinvested back into the community, supporting local football for everyone. πŸ™Œ

So What's in it for the football clubs
    • Access to funding for sustainable upgrades like solar panels and battery storage. πŸ”‹
    • A treasure trove of educational resources and energy-saving guides πŸ“š
    • Expert support from E.ON Next to help them go green 🌳

We're excited to continue working with the FA to make community clubs more sustainable and show that the energy transition can benefit everyone. Read more about the Greener Games Initiative here πŸ’œ

Wouldn't Cricket Clubs be a better investment? Why invest in a winter/spring sport when solar is at its lowest?

That's an interesting point @Andy65 - I suppose football clubs are used all year round though are they not? I know my local club is - they have training sessions on Tuesdays and Sundays and then friendly matches throughout the year on a Wednesday evening or a Saturday afternoon. Then they also have kids sessions too. I know this is year round as they all park in my street!

To be honest though I don't know much about football or cricket so I couldn't tell you when they are usually played other than when it messes with Eastenders on the telly πŸ˜‚

@DebF_EONNext I fully understand that a deal with the FA will result in a higher level of PR than it would with the ECB, but I was just questioning whether a winter sport would yield more efficiency savings than a summer sport. Eastenders has never been the same since the demise of Dirty Den, any sport that disrupts the Eastenders schedules is a good thing in my view πŸ˜‚, although coverage of sport by the BBC is somewhat abysmal compared to what it once was.
