Anyone any idea on how to get Off Peak Tariffs with a meter that reads 2 Rates but doesn't communicate? Quite happy to give manual readings but no one seems to accept. Ps have EV and ASHP and it's all quite expensive on Standard Tariff.
Are the lights on the Comms hub flashing about every 5 seconds, which shows the communication is working OK
Sometimes EOn claim to have problems reading your meter but it is actually in smart mode, so use this to see if they're actually working in smart https://smartmetercheck.citizensadvice.org.uk/
If they're working in smart mode, download the Bright app, register your meters then you can see the ½ hourly readings EOn should be seeing.
Then nag, nag, nag customer services till they get your account reading settings sorted properly.
Everyone, inc CAB says it should work but it doesn't. Same with all reat of village. Due to the well known 'Northerners'signal issues! I can see TO1 and TO2 data but checked this to see if TO2 changed whilst charging car overnight on cheaper rate and it didn't.
Just because your meter can display two rates, that doesn't mean you are set up on a dual rate tariff! T01 may not necessarily the off-peak rate either.
On your bills, do you just have a single reading, or do you have two readings? Is your tariff a dual rate tarriff?
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
if a customer was on a dual rate tariff then they should have been fitted with a meter that facilitated that. I’m sure a complaint to the company and then probably to the ombudsman would be necessary to answer you.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
@meldrewreborn
many have tried. I was with Octopus and signed up for GO. They captured readings for 2mths (not sure how they got them ?maybe phone mast?) But they are meant to get from Radio mast here. Anyway, T&Cs, if you cant get a signal then it is automatically switched to Standard Tariff for all useage. I'm now with EON and at least they have offered a 'try' this solution but not sure it will work.
@retrotecchie
Am new customer on Standard Tariff with EON. . When anyone in this village (between Glasgow Edinburgh) requests a quote we will only ever get quoted Standard Tariff. Although, Octopus came back and said we'll put in Smart Meter and you will get GO. I was dubious. Anyway, the explanation in the Panorama program is petty much where I'm at. Unless i can get an E7 meter and send manual readings. Not sure why the Kaifa M120 can't be made into a 2 rate meter?
