@retrotecchie What marbles, the grandkids have taken all mine 😂.
May be 'Mystic Meg ' is this individual all the calculations are centred around to produce the 'Mystic Average '. Nothing like a bit of crystal ball gazing to get accurate theoretical figures 🙃🌞.
Yep the all important factor it all comes down to is "Ow Much!" .

Shows the 12000kWh, as it was when the report was produced, is totally unachievable for many - the average for a detached house being closer to 20000kWh. I originally found that report on the OFGEM website but it mysteriously disappeared, I wonder why.
My detached 200 year old stone cottage sat in the teeth of Atlantic gales runs at about 3600kwh a year. How do people in more modern, well insulated properties manage to use 6 times as much energy?!
Mind you...in a previous life I had two teenogres who could use that much a year each just running games consoles and the associated TVs🤣🤣🤣. I know because I sub-metered their bedrooms 🤓

Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
that is an interesting link. Taking my own situation, my 1033 semi has been extended , had cavity wall insulation on n and good loft insulation and full double glazing. I use gas for water heating , mainly in the winter because I’ve solar thermal to heat water in the summer months. Cooking is gas too.
how do the tables help in a practical way? Not a great deal! But if OFGEm publish their typical price change, and the electricity and gas changes are similar and the ratio between unit prices as standing charges is much the same, then the percentage increase can give Joe Public a sense of the impact on their bills. No more , no less. A flavour of the increase - that’s all.
whether Joe Public really follow the nuances of all this is doubtful in my view, if they did we might not have the current government.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
I could use less if we used fewer rooms, heated to a lower temperature and dressed as the characters in “Wolf Hall” do (even with fires going in every grate), but I prefer to live as I do and pay the price.
