I got the smart meters installed today but the installer said there are no IHD any more and just to use the website,
Is this the new experience?
I think I can use an app to give live usage costs? I’ve tried Bright just now but it won’t let me register (white screen at verification stage). Is there another app that people would recommend?
@Tammer. It’s too soon to use bright. Demand an IHD and make a complaint that one wasn’t supplied upon installation.
It’s very poor service by the installer who may be a contractor or an employee, we don’t know. But either way its bad, putting you to additional effort to get what should have been readily provided.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
The installer was probably an independent contractor but was organised through the eonnext website.
i am a bit fed up with this as I was kind of reluctant to get a smart meter due to the potential for adding unwanted hassle into my life. I am on a flexible tariff so might just move to another provider.
Moving to another supplier won't make an IHD appear. Best to exhaust what Eon Next will do to rectify this lack of an IHD before thinking of changing supplier.
Eon may try to provide me with a IHD. Nothing as yet.
in the meantime I’ve started using the eonnext app. It has “usage”. I can see that some days it registers both gas and electricity, other days only one of them or neither. Is this the usual experience at first when getting smart meters?
I have better experiences with the Bright app compared to the Eon Next app although the latter has been better lately for me. So keep trying to register with Bright.
