Can't lower direct debit

Hi, could you give me some advice about my direct debit please?

My energy usage has dropped massively in recent months now that I no longer have elderly parents living with me - And will definitely stay lower.

I have tried to lower my DD (fixed) on the app (The web browser, both in Chrome and Edge are non functioning ATM - Could that be fixed pls?) But it will only let me make it HIGHER - As I assume, it's looking at legacy past payment history when usage was much higher. My account is in credit.

Any suggestions on how I can either; change to a Variable DD; Or, lower my current DD payment appreciated! Ideally online, you can never get through!
    Thanks

I would suggest switching to variable DD if you can deal with higher bills in the winter months.

My own consumption dropped over 2 years ago and the Estimated Annual Consumption they use to set DDs is still not representative of my current consumption level. Eon Next will not recognise that the industry calculated EAC can be wrong, so getting a reasonable fixed DD can be a attritional process which VDD neatly sidesteps.

You can send an email with your readings and account details to switch to variable DD.

A few things with respect of your browsers that are worth trying.
    1) Ensure you are using the same email address and password you use for your app.
    2) Clear the cache and cookies for both browsers.
    3) Switch off any ad-blockers.
    4) If you use a password manager then stop and just enter your email address and password manually.
    5) Switch off any VPNs temporarily if you use them.
    6) Make sure everything is up to their latest versions.
