I joined EON in July 2024. I have just received my first bill which shows I owe £1904.88 from October 2021. I can't have this hanging over me all weekend, does anyone know how I can speak to someone to get this sorted. Thank you
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
Unfortunately their main Customer Service telephone line closes at 4 p.m on a Friday until Monday morning. They have an out of hours number: 0808 5015088 but it's only for emergencies with meters.
They are supposed to be available until 10 pm 7 days a week on WhatsApp and the same by email at hi@eonnext.com
I've never used either of those, but it's worth a try.
Can you explain who the bill is from, whether the readings are correct and whether lots of previous bills ( with your old supplier ) were based on estimates. On the forum we don’t have access to your account but we can help to solve problem cases.
We’re just other customers with a variety of expertise and we usually are able to give advice on how to get matters resolved.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
Thank you for your help. I have a Smart meter and the bills were correct ( I received a refund from Scottish Power when I transferred). The EON bill even shows a period with my start date of 11 July 2024 where I've used £27.47 for gas up to 10 September which would be right it's all the gas charges from 2021 that are wrong
So Eon Next are billing you for the period (up to 3 years) when you were not even a customer? That’s a new one.
No need to be anxious though. If you pay by fixed direct debit there will be no immediate consequences. If you pay by variable direct there could be issues if customer services don’t solve it quickly.
phone them on Monday. It should not ever have happened. Once it’s resolved make a complaint, to open the door to compensation.
@meldrewreborn Thank you for your help. It was apparently a computer problem, and I'm now £140 in credit. They have logged a complaint, but that does not excuse the stress that I have had to endure this weekend. They've now given me an out of hours number 03003032756 to contact for any future problems. Hope this number can help other EON customers
That's great news that they've corrected it for you, and yes mistakes happen, but you're right, it doesn't excuse the stress you've had to go through this weekend. Thanks for posting the out of hours number on here. That's good to know, and will prove very useful and helpful to other customers.👍
