You might have head of some admittedly rare cases where scammers have been able to pose as property owners and sell a property without having been the real owners. Due to property law the purchasers then get real title to the property, and the former proper owners are compensated by the Land registry. Obviously this causes the original owners real problems but help to prevent such scam is available.

Where you can register a maximum of 10 properties and once registered you receive notification of any activity in relation to a property. You do not need to own any property yourself.
