National Grid ESO acquired by government - £630m

    In order to bring decision makers under one umbrella, mad eyed Ed has lashed out £630m he doesn’t have to buy the ESO.

    Initially government borrowing will cover the bill, but it will then be recouped via standing charges to circa 33m households, so about £19 each.

    The one thing you cannot deny is that the new government promised change - we’re certainly getting that - but building growth in the economy measures are a bit scarce for now.
