I’ve just switched energy suppliers, as well as from a pay as you go contract to a credit one, and the house now doesn’t have any electricity. I’ve got a liberty 101 electricity smart meter which shows the status of the supply as OFF, when it was working before the switch. I’ve also got a liberty gas 200 meter which says the gas supply is ON, and the gas is working. I’ve checked the fuse box etc and everything is on. I’m wondering what’s causing the supply to be off - is there anything I can do on the meter or in the house to fix this issue, or do I need to contact the new supplier? Any help would be great!
The meter will light up and display PRESS A TO CONNECT
Press A again and the meter will display PRESS B TO CONFIRM
Press the B button to reconnect the supply
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
Thanks for the reply! When I press A though, I just get the standard ‘select mode’ with the vend mode, enter pin and set pin options. It’s as if it’s connected. Do you have any idea why that might be happening?
The meter is always live. It's just the output connection to your consumer unit that's disconnected by the internal relay. It sounds like it's still thinking it's a prepay meter. When you switched to credit mode, the meter should have been sent a message to reconfigure it. Either the message didn't go through successfully or the message hasn't been sent. You won't get any joy on the phones until Monday now, but it might be worth trying the out of hours meter team on 0808 501 5200. They deal with prepay meter issues but may be able to give you advice.
I’ve just come across this thread and you’ve had excellent advice from @retrotecchie.
you posts don’t seem to convey any sense of this being an emergency, which most of us would do. If it is an emergency you need to call the number given above but to emphasise it’s an emergency situation.
