A Query

    Hi Everyone,

I was looking in my electricity cupboard this afternoon, and something puzzled me.

As shown in the picture, the Neutral Cable comes in on the left, and to the right of that is the Positive cable with its 100 Amp Fuse.

But to the right of that is a 100 Amp Fuse Holder that appears to be unconnected to anything, and doing nothing.

Anyone got any ideas why its there? Am I allowed to remove it?

    Cheers.

Strictly speaking, anything mounted to the meter/disconnect backboard (and the board itself) is the property of the DNO and should not be touched by the consumer. That said, it's not connected to anything or doing anything so it is rather superfluous.

I'd leave it simply because it's not my bailiwick, even though the engineer in me says 'tidy it up' 🤣🤣🤣
