Hi all, I asked a question some time ago about what sort of meter I had, and then after that could an IHD be used with it and received some useful replies, thanks. This new thread is specifically about how (now 2 years on from that initial question), I can get as near real-time data to an IHD of some kind. Failing that, an app.
Glow from Hildebrand Display and CAD - Smart meters – Glow from Hildebrand (glowmarkt.com) In their additional information - for the SMETS1 variant who have a Trilliant Comms Hub we cannot currently join the unit to their meters - please contact us if you'd like to be told when this has been fixed by the DCC and Trilliant. I asked them about this 2 years ago and since this info is still there I assume no change.
The "Hildebrand Glow Stick" no longer appears to be a thing
Hey @dazzlr I hope you're well, it's lovely to see you back in the community!
I'm going to tag @WizzyWigg and @Mailman as I believe these two lovely chaps may use some external apps or can perhaps point you in the right direction 😊

Have you tried downloading something like the Hildebrand Bright app or Hugo? I use Bright and it gives pretty much real-time consumption (time lag can vary a bit) down to half-hourly and goes back a couple of years. Worth a try if you haven't already done so.
Edit... I can see I recommended Bright to you before but not sure it was possible for you.

I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.
Morning @dazzlr I use the Bright app, Eon Next app and a spreadsheet. The Bright app gives me the information that an IHD does, admittedly not in real time (good enough though), but at least at 30 min intervals. You can also download the data in a CSV format which is great if you want to do any analysis.
I may be wrong but no one produces a compatible IHD for our smart meter combination, (I have the same equipment as you).
Just to add, if you really need to know what specific devices are using when you turn them on a decent home monitor plug that your appliance plugs into will give you that device-by-device power draw (and even the cost over a given time period if needed). The IHD does have 'usage now' but it just gives the total power draw of leccy used at that moment in time. Yes it also gives total kWh consumed since 0000 of that particular day and historical usage from previous days (same as Bright etc).
@dazzlr Out shopping at moment but had a look on Bright app (I know I'm sad), it's got 10.00 to 10.30 usage at 0.03kWh . So about 30 mins behind real time.
Don't know anything about this or if it is accurate (can't see why it shouldn't be 👍), but it looks like it could fit the bill with a current measuring sensor which clips around the positive supply cable from your meter.
Then you can view your usage remotely plus (depending on version) download to the PC via USB
