Hi, I am being charged my electricity Day rate 28.54 p/kWh when I should be charged a lot less from July 2024, please see the attached screenshot and I want to know why?
Please see the charges for July in this link as I am unable to attach the screenshot :
If you are a multi rate customer, such as E7, then the rate quoted in that link is the average price per unit for a customer using the average number of units split day / night as per the regulations
Economy 7 tariff or multi-rate customers
If you are a multi-rate customer or on an Economy 7 tariff, you will probably have more than one electricity unit rate shown on your bill. For example, a rate for the energy you use during off-peak times and a rate during peak times. The unit rates included in the energy price cap are an average of the unit rate based on how much energy will be used during peak and off-peak periods.
It unfortunately bears little resemblance to your actual unit rate and the day & night rates can vary considerably between suppliers for the same region. If you work out your unit rates using an annual consumption of 4200 kWh split 52% day and 48% night you will see that your day rate will be correct.
