Hi,
I am currently on the Next Pledge Tracker V3 tariff which ends on 16/01/25. I see there is a V5 tariff, which I assume is the same rate, but am I right in thinking is that if I upgrade the benefit is that it will run for a further 12 months.
Sorry if it seems a daft question,….. Have just come out of hospital and the brain isnt fully functioning 😂😂
however it is thought that variable prices will increase 10% for Q4 and remain at that level for Q1 2025. Which means higher prices through the winter months. Also the standing charges are likely to be substantially higher, which affect low consumption users. The incoming government may also change things.
Please consider whether a fix is likely to be more advantageous to you.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
All the standing charges have increased under the new batch of tariffs. Energy fluctuations are what they are, but the SC's only ever seem to go up!
I'm hoping that if Captain Hindsight's lot get in, they will have a root and branch reformation of the energy sector, but I can't see it happening. Their plans for Great British Energy will only happen if they invest the £38 billion in the grid infrastructure first, so that will need to be paid for by the bill payer and the SC will likely need to go up again to fund that.
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
The electricity standing charge is currently 49.92p per day across all of the Eon next tariffs for my region, but the Cornwall Forecast for Q4 is for 61p. That's what I referring to. Eventually the tariffs on offer will change to reflect the October 24 price cap standing charges - that's how I see it.
Also Eon next still send out mixed messages on exit fees. The summary detail says if you change supplier, while the full tariff information says if you exit this tariff. Surely its about time they got these things clearer.
As I use very little gas in these summer months I'm fixing my tariff now to ensure lower unit prices for the heavy consumption months October 24 through March 25.
Just brought my Gas from EDF to Eon Next for a 12 month fix. 12 minutes on the phone as switching one fuel is more complicated than switching two. Also updated my forum profile signature. That todays work done now for a glass of wine - while I can afford it!.
Ah, now you'll need to keep us informed as to whether they bill the combined account or bill separately for 'leccy and gas!
Both myself and daughter brought (SOLR'd) gas over from EDF and got combined bills. Had to make a phone call to actually get my bill first time - the account was debited but no bill produced, weird - but it pretty much all worked

As I’m not a fan of dual fuel deals, and I’m still hoping that better deals will materialise eventually, I don’t really care whether I get one bill or two - I’ll cope. But I’m even thinking of going over to the dark side and allowing Smart Meters to be fitted (more sensible now that both fuels are with the same supplier) and I can then describe my experiences for forum members. I Will hope that the communications fail and I have effectively traditional meters, but if they work I doubt I’ll be a fan ever. Stil chewing on that though.
I've heard some snippets about you having your smart meter installed and can't wait to hear how this goes for you as I know you've not been tempted over to the 'darkside' for a good while and you were on the fence about the benefits of a smart meter!
Let us know how it all goes 😁
