You're right about that. Everything up to the meter is the responsibility of the Distribution Network Owner (DNO). The metering itself is the responsibility of your supplier. Everything forward of the meter, or disconnect if fitted, is the responsibility of the consumer. There is a degree of overlap but there never seems to be any 'joined up thinking' when it comes to situations like yours.

The solar installers should have coordinated with both the supplier and DNO to ensure that the metering system was fit for purpose and any changes should have been implemented at the same time, or prior to, the solar installation.

When commissioned, the system should have been validated to ensure that the metering was working correctly. That's my opinion at any rate.

Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.

I can see that come the meeting, the EON rep and Solar rep will both deny responsibilty, leaving me out of pocket.

Does anyone have a suggestion on an expert I could bring in on my behalf to help with my cases?

it seems to me that the set up needs urgent revision to get the future metering correct. Delay in resolving current metering is costing you dear at present The issue of the past billing will be made more straightforward to resolve once that is done. £100 for a check meter is insignificant in relation to the other charges you are facing.

As a business I don’t know whether back billing rules apply but you might want to check them out.

Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.

    Morning,

Thank you for this; you are completely correct about the £100 fee.

Can you explain what you man on the 'back billing'?

Did you get to the bottom of this @Mortimer? We are having similar issues. If you had a new meter fitted would you share what it was so I can perhaps ask for this model too.
