If you need to submit a manual, I'd also be inclined to submit such readings just AFTER midnight if possible (so that the date of the manual reading is 1st July) as I believe the system will treat readings submitted on 1st July as applying to all usage up to and including 30th June. Submitting one on 30th June at say 2350 might be treated as usage up to and including June 29th necessitating a further estimate for what the system believes is usage for 30th June! As my scheduled smart read is pulled on 1st of EVERY month this is how the smart read translates onto all my bills. Hopefully that makes sense especially as the price cap is going down slightly. If the price cap were going the other way, I'd be inclined to submit meter readings just BEFORE midnight on 30th. 😎
I have old fashioned meters and always submit readings on the 1st and am billed to the last day of the month on those readings. Submitting on 30th will bill to 29th.
