I'm unable to make payments online via the portal when logging into my account.
This happened last month too & I don't understand why?
I've tried on several occasions and get the same error message.
'Something’s gone wrong.'
I'm not using a VPN, and am based in the UK.
I won't re-instate my direct debit as Eon proved themselves to sadly be untrustworthy (Taking MUCH larger payments than agreed within my DD cap, or what we owed)
Not to mention a shed load of billing issues with our account from a former tenant at our address when first joining.
I know I can pay over the phone, but it's much less convenient than via the website.
Just wondering if it's an issue specific to my account, or if other customers are also unable to pay via the online payment page?
Hey, have you tried using a different browser? The leaflet printer at my workplace only works with Firefox. Browsers like Brave or Thorium often block payment gateways. I suggest trying to make the payment using Firefox or Chrome in incognito mode 🙂
Afternoon @Met Could I clarify things. Are you unable to log into your account or are you able to log in to your account but not make a payment? Try clearing browser cache, browsing history and cookies. Come out of browser and reboot your device. Try logging in but don't use a password manager, enter your username and password manually, and see if that does the trick. If you can login but are still having problems making a payment then I would suggest contacting Customer Services. Ways to do so can be found here https://eonnext.com/contact

I tried with a private browser which didn't work, but i then also tried with an alternative (Safari) which did.
I've had a couple of issues with online payments in my regular browser recently so I wonder if you are onto something.

Afternoon @Met Thanks for the reply. It's a long shot but have you tried my suggestions. There's a slim chance that there might be a rogue cookie that might be causing the problem. I've had a similar issue myself recently. Admittedly not with Eon Next.
Nothing guaranteed though.

You can only make a payment when logged into your online account.
I can log into my account fine, its just the final page after attempting to make a payment via Worldpay that it isn't working.
I thought there might be staff moderating the forum, as is common with these kinds of support pages.

This could be a possibility...
You haven't got a popup blocker setup in your browser, or using Brave which has it built in and also has a blocker for the annoying gdpr "accept cookies" popup
I've had issues using Brave where pages seem to get "stuck" (sometimes at the point of making a payment) but manage to get them through in Chrome or another browser.
Eventually sussed out that it was Brave which was preventing the display of a popup dialog, so consequently I couldn't respond and continue 🥴
