@PaulS2024
Never mind the IHD, what is the make and model of your actual meters? If they are Liberty meters, they are designed to act as either credit meters, or as Pay As You Go Meters.
Even in credit mode they, for no obvious reason, can display (erroneous) balance information. It's meaningless - simply ignore it if your account is a standard credit account. I know that it probably irritates you seeing it on the IHD, but such is the nature of the beasts.
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons. -
Hi @PaulS2024 I've found out what the meter balance is. It's the cost of energy used since your last bill. Nothing to do with prepayment. This picture is of my IHD showing electricity costing since 23/03/2024. If I add that cost to my gas I get exactly what's on my spreadsheet.
PS my tariff is correct on the IHD and meter.Last edited by WizzyWigg; 01-04-24 at 17:15. Reason: Wrong date

@Mailman
could it be that the smart view is being faithfully relayed data from the meter but the meter itself is wrongly configured. If so a new IHD would provide no better information.Last edited by meldrewreborn; 01-04-24 at 17:13.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless. -
Totally agree @meldrewreborn .

U R A star!! Why the folk on the support line could not work that out is beyond me.
Just the pesky sending of the tariff changes multiple times per week to get fixed now :-)

It is also the meter that is sending the IHD the tariff change data and it is Eon that is sending the meter the Tariff change data (I suspect). As an ex-analyst/programmer of the database variety (aka coder as they call them these days) I remember the acronym SISO S**t in S**t out. This seems to sum this situation up nicely :-)

My IHD (Chameleon) shows the totals so far today, so far this week and so far this month (and I can go backwards as well for previous periods). With my meter reads being pulled on 1st, the month also corresponds with the calendar month figures. Makes for neat spreadsheet accounting and acts as a final check for the kWh being billed on each statement 😁.
