I have received calls from 0333 303 0985 and 0333 303 4380 from someone claiming to be from eon, they said I needed to renew with them today or I would go onto a higher rate immediately (Contract in place until 22/03/2025)
They said they wrote to me in February so could not email me any further paperwork, I 'Just need to take the numbers over the phone'
Am I right to be dubious?

Reason: Adding further number
That's what I thought, 5 times they've called, 4 times I've hung up on them after wasting some of their time so they don't move on to scam someone who could fall for it!
Thank you @WizzyWigg I did check there but just wanted to double check on here too. Didn't want to think I really had hung up on an employee. (Although if that was the case I may have suggested some customer service training!!)
unfortunately you cannot believe the incoming telephone number reported by your phone - the scammers “spoof” them. Always treat any unexpected calls with deep suspicion, and call the company on another handset/line to check what the first caller told you. If somebody came up to us in the street and spun us a yarn we probably wouldn’t believe them, but somehow the equivalent over the phone seems to bypass our natural caution. And if the caller claims the matter is urgent then that’s a red flag straight away.

Hey @Sophes, welcome to the community and thanks for flagging this up.
I don't believe these numbers are associated with us. This certainly doesn't sound right 🤔 we would never expect an energy specialist to pressure you into signing up for anything as this goes against our values. An energy specialist may discuss your tariff options or offer you new tariff options when you are coming to the end of the agreement, however we would never make that decision for you.
If you pop a message over to one of our energy specialists on social media or email hi@eonnext.com and they will be able to check to see if there's been any calls made if you need some peace of mind 😊
