Daughter moved into a flat in September and switched to E-On in December. First meter reading was in the low 23,000s, she has submitted readings on a monthly basis, last one was just over 24,000. Went to take a reading today, it's saying 00572!
She's now worried she is going to get a bill for a couple of million quid 😀
I thought at first she must had read someone else's meter by mistake, but it's definitely the same meter as before, I've got pictures of both readings, the serial numbers match, and I've also popped round to double-check.
All meter readings to date have been taken manually, no smart readings as yet.
Have E-On changed what is being displayed on the smart meter so it only shows usage since the last bill? I also notice a monetary figure is displayed (£162.82), which I've never seen before.
The reading of 00572 looks sensible against the amount of £162.82. Does that consumption look about right since the last bill? If you do an internet search for the make and model of the meter then you might be able to get some info about the menus and how to read different displays. Failing that you could post photos here and someone might be able to help. Last but not least, you could contact customer service for advice.
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.

The consumption looks reasonable compared to the last couple of months.
I’ve been right through the menu, but will google to see if I’ve missed anything.
Confusingly, some sources (You Tube for instance) suggest pressing Button 9. I think it will be trial and error until you see a reading that looks sensible when comparing to the previous read. Maybe give Secure Liberty 100 Electric Meter a Google before you try.
