So I had a brief power cut yesterday and now the display on the meter isn't showing anything. Pressing the blue button or inserting my key has no effect. There are no lights on the meter anywhere, other than the backlight for the display. My property is still receiving electricity.
I have called both E-on and the National Grid twice and both are telling me it's the others' responsibility. So now I'm stuck in limbo.
E-on have said that if there is no red light on the meter then I need to contact the National Grid. The NG have said that the meter is E-on's responsibility, as the property is still receiving power.
Hey @Apocalypso, Welcome to the community😁. It seems that your meter has gone into what we call "free vend mode" - this can happen following a powercut. I would advise you to call one of our Energy Specialists on Monday as this would definitely need an appointment to correct the issue with the meter. @Connor_EONNext Hi Connor. I sent an email and they have apologised and will arrange for me to have a smart meter installed. So it looks like I'm going to be ok. Thanks for replying.
