£1?????? Got one of those discs on a chain. Can't afford a £1. 😂
I was at Tesco a while back and when I went for a trolley there was a guy just wheeling his back. I offered him a pound for his trolley to save faffing around. He looked a bit flustered and then said OK. When I took the trolley back I found there was an old manky token in it. Once bitten... 😂
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.

Give it a quick clean and use it twice and you'll be quids in. 🤓
@retrotecchie You're lucky I can't afford Strepsils. I've got a tin of Zubes that I purchased in 1969 but they don't fit. s-l1600(1).jpg/a>
No, they're Imperial. Your modern trolley takes decimal coinage. I once had a work colleague who discovered you could use an old style 50p with the corners filed off instead of a 5 Deutchmark coin (worth about £2 back then) in cigarette vending machines in Germany. Best to do it at random autobahn service stations rather than places you frequented regularly as the locals knew our GB plated Montego quite well and would have put two and two together.

Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.

Oh silly me. You see I still work in chains, links and furlongs. 😳 Perhaps a new metric tin of Zubes would be the answer. I'll start saving. 🤔

I actually lost it somewhere so I would have probably lost the pound coin I would’ve been using if I didn’t have the token so I’m probably where I would’ve been anyway. Does that drivel make sense? Or is it up to my usual standard? 🤔😂

Fully understood. Have you booked your padded cell yet 😂😂.
I've booked mine at an adults only venue. 👴

When I were a lad my mate’s dad was an electrician. The metal back boxes for switches and sockets had metal discs that knocked out so that the wire conduits could be attached to them. These disks were the size of a sixpence when lightly sanded and worked in phone boxes and vending machines. We had loads of them for a while but I think the powers that be must have cottoned on as the fun didn’t last too long.
