Still no reset option. Any suggestions?
IHD3 frozen after power outage
-
We had a power outage 2 days ago for over 10 hours. When the power returned everything returned to normal except my IHD. The screen just says " waiting for current data". The time symbols are all on zero. The WiFi bars are on full as the IHD is close to the smart meter. I contacted eonnext help who suggested I disconnect the power lead and move the ihd close to the meter on just its battery. Then I should press the OK button and the reset option would appear. No it didn't!! I tried again after turning off the house WiFi and our extenders
Still no reset option. Any suggestions? -

Unplug the IHD. Leave it until the battery goes flat. Wait 24 hours, then plug it in again. And keep your fingers crossed.
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons. -

Hi,
My IHD3 doesn't have a battery in it at present as its connected to the mains and sits in the same room as the smart meter so always full WiFi signal. Any other suggestions welcome. Eonnext helpline not overly helpful! -
@brensurg This is a slim possibly but these links to articles might help. No guarantees though.

Yes it does. An in-built lithium rechargeable. Try the suggestion in the link @WizzyWigg posted. Holding the power button for ten seconds and keeping it held while inserting the charger should initiate a reset, as does the method I suggested which takes a bit longer, obviously.

I know that mine does (Li-battery) but wondering if some IHD models have say a AAA battery in it that the OP removed at some point in the past. I don't think I can get into mine (never tried) as it looks like a sealed unit. -
@brensurg
my IHD doesn't have a power button. It's a smart view chameleon. I was advised to unplug it and insert a AAA battery in the allocated slot on its back and press the OK button on the front and the reset option will appear. Then just click OK again. -
Afternoon @brensurg It might be worth popping up a couple of photos of your IHD. One front view and one back. Then we'll know exactly which IHD you have.
Can I ask how long did you hold the OK button down for on your first attempt (as per Eon Next instructions)?Last edited by WizzyWigg; 26-01-24 at 16:25. Reason: Extra information

@WizzyWigg
Here are the photos of my IHD3. The advice from eonnext was to just touch the ok button once the battery was installed whilst close to the smart meter -
@brensurg Thank you. Sorry to be a pain but could you upload a photo of the back of the IHD. This may be all for nothing but anything is worth a try.
