I was very reluctant to have a smart meter installed and still trying to educate myself, I do have a question 🙋
my gas smart meter is showing a credit of £12.24? I am not a pay as you go customer so what is the credit about?
I am a little concerned I maybe changed a higher rate due to E.On Next thinking I am a pay as you go customer when I do pay DD monthly.
also my IHD display which I am coming very close to throwing in the trash 🗑️ is giving false information. I am apparently, being charged 897 a hour for my gas.
my IHD display is located right next to my meters.
Thanks
If you are a credit customer, billed monthly, then just ignore any credit reading on the meter. Many meters such as the Secure Liberty can be used as credit or PAYG meters. It's common to see a credit reading on a non-pay as you go meter but it has no relevance to you or your account whatsoever. Don't worry about it!
I'll give you the same advice as I do with anyone with an IHD. Completely ignore any prices or costs and just use it to track your actual usage and readings in kWh. The same as us mere mortals without smart meters do. You know your tariff (it'll be on your bills in the online account) so working out costs from kWh meter readings isn't difficult.

Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
@retrotecchie thanks for your reply the IHD causes more stress then it’s doing good, time for it to find a new home in the bin.
your reply makes perfect sense thanks for educating myself on the credit.

Maybe just use the IHD as a means of working out kWh usage and set the thing to display kWh rather than £ (often more wrong than right IMO).
