I assumed it was midnight but my usage at 0:02am is already over £1 for the day.
Smart meter, time change to next day?

Normally is around midnight.
Probably find if are looking at your IHD (In Home Display) that figure is made up mostly of your standing charge. Have you checked what your usage (KWh) was at that time and does it seem realistic to what appliances you had running.
If you have a mobile phone or tablet it might be worth downloading the Hildebrand Bright app. It will take a little time to populate but can show you historical usage and help understand your charges.Last edited by WizzyWigg; 11-01-24 at 08:20. Reason: Extra information

@Crochetmuma
As @WizzyWigg rightly says, the £1 showing on your IHD will be mainly the daily standing charges, because they always apply those first. My IHD always shows a balance of just over £1 first thing in the morning, which is made up of approximately £0.90 standing charges, and the remainder is the running costs of my fridge-freezer, second smaller freezer, and a few electric clocks. -
Hi @Crochetmuma You are welcome. Glad to hear you can rest at ease 👍🌞.
